Booklet: Complementation projects 2010-2011 |

BBMRI-NL has published a booklet with short summaries of the first round of Complementation Projects, most of which are rounding off just about now. You can view the booklet online, or you can order a copy by sending an email to m.heesakker@bbmri.nl. |

And the winner is... |

21 November - Winner of the Complementation projects poster contest 2011 is Maarten Leusink and the team of CP 34, "Enrichment, sample storage and management of UU-pharmacogenetic biobanks", University of Utrecht, Faculty of Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences.
The poster was picked from over fifteen entries. The prizes, an iPad2 and a certificate, were handed out during the BBMRI-NL conference Connecting Biobanks, 21 November.

GoNL ready for the next level |
|

|
The BBMRI-NL Rainbow Project Genome of the Netherlands project (GoNL) is ready for the next level. It has completed the alignment of all the DNA reads of the 750 individuals, producing a total of 350 billion reads. Based on these data, further analyses can be performed, enabling the development of new treatments and diagnostic techniques.

Five Rainbow Projects receive funding |

BBMRI-NL has awarded five more Rainbow Projects. This brings the number of Rainbow Projects starting this year to seven (see also the news item on RP’s 3 and 4).
